I saw the movie sooo long ago and I can't seem to remember what happened right after the sex scene in the movie atonement..... After they were interrupted, what happened and did they ever go back to each other?

The dude paid the chick, from where he went back home to his wife and pretended nothing happened. As for the woman, she stumbled onto the street, and in a drug fuelled rage attacked an oncoming Wonder White delivery truck
